"At the gates of Moria"

Gandalf was tasked to guide the Fellowship, he almost gazed at the eastern gates but never reached them. Inspired by this modern #Moses and his voyage in the dark places under Middle-Earth, I've painted this illustration as #Gustave Dore carved his engravings to illustrate #Dante Alighieri's "Divina Commedia". "Open, open! he shouted, and followed it with the same command in every language that had ever been spoken in the West of Middle-earth. Then he threw his staff on the ground, and sat down in silence.". I am very proud of the result of three months of drawings, failures and hard work spent on this "digital engraving".
